As indicated in No. 15 on the file we agreed to release before the 31st March, 1951 a total sum of £100,000. Of this amount £50,000 was issued from the Vote for C. & M.E.S. on account of the grant of £250,000 to the Government of Hong Kong promised in the financial settlement, and the balance of £50,000 from the Vote for Development and Welfare as a first instalment of the grant of £250,000 promised from that source.
